Has anyone else besides me been watching this show? It has to be the best western show ever made. It's violent, profane and just damn excellent. The sets and costumes are so well done, you can smell the stench of the city. The town of Deadwood evidently averaged a murder a day. You've got Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane and just about every type of lowlife cowboy scum in this show. If you haven't seen it, I really suggest you try to catch it.

I won't go quite that far yet, with only two episodes. But it's very good so far, and the good news is that it got better from the first episode to the second.

Yes, it's profane and violent, just as it probably was. That helps make things realistic - but that's not what makes it good. So far the writing of the characters (and acting of course) is excellent, letting us see them as people rather than one dimensional. So far so good!

I saw the first episode. I'll catch the second sometime this week. You're right about the detail. There still aren't any characters I care about, but I've only seen one episode. Mayhap after time...
