King can't write an ending to save his life... i gave up on his stuff years ago...
Anyone seen this Stephen King miniseries on TNT?
I'm not a King fan other than having a liking towards The Stand novel, but I really enjoyed the first episode "Battleground" with William Hurt as the hitman besieged by a footlocker of vengeful toy Army men.

I watched it....I liked the first one OK but the ending absolutely sucked on the 2nd one.
I plan on giving it another try this week, nothing better on TV.
All I saw was the first one, just to let you know.

He sets up a good story that leads to a very disappointing end every single fuckin' time. He should stick to Shawshank, Stand by Me, etc. he's seems to do better with stuff like that. Not those are masterpieces, but they don't fall apart at the end.
King's horror stuff doesn't translate well to film.
There are always gay undertones in his stories which has little or nothing to do with the story.
When's this shit on?
Wednesdays at 9PM EST....
Battleground was awesome, but I missed the first 15 minutes of it...Crouch End was some stupid shit, but it had Claire Forlani in it...but yeah, it still sucked....
Umney's Last Case was okay, wasn't really scary...I fell asleep during the second one, and I heard it was really good but sad....
Gonna try and catch a repeat of it sometime...
I'm not a huge fan of his stuff.....but i'm glad you liked battleground, i did the final crushing scene, and some of my friends did all the other commando and army men stuff.
the crushing scene is in my videos section on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/spfxwizard01
when i went to the cast/crew showing a few weeks ago they played "battleground" and "the end of the whole mess"...the whole mess episode was pretty lame

That's so cool!
Am I right in saying that the soldiers were real actors and their stuff actual size, just shot against a bluescreen or something of the like?
By the way, did you ever get close to William Hurt?
you got it, everything was full size, then was shrunk down after being filmed on a blue screen...never met hurt, they filmed his stuff ahead of time then the soldiers had to act according to the existing footage
The family and I watched Battleground together; they kept insisting that the soldiers were CGI.
I can't wait for the DVD, even if this is the only episode I might give a shit about.
