Fantasia can sing really well. They basically anointed her queen of the world tonight on the show.

yeah I think she's gonna nail it. the other girl I think can still have a career in music and she's only 16. too bad I dont like the music that they sing. dont even know why I watch it, except for when the really terrible singers are on. then its funny to watch them suck at singing so bad.

My wife was watching it so I picked up on a few of the performances.....

... what's up with that Fantasia girl's voice???? It's about as pleasant as a cheese grater!

The young girl (Diana?) hit a few bad notes, but overall has more power, range, and better tone.

thats weird, because I think she has an unique voice. there are other singers out there with scraty, gravely voices like Melissa Ethrage, Bob Dylan and such. I guess thats kind of the sound she has.

ah, you mean a voice you can shave with

I actually like that sound... the sound of millions of shots of Jack and Marboros... The sound of Paul Westerberg

I think it's going to be Diana.

All-around, she's the better singer, and with her age, she has an advantage. She'll be easier to market and "mold" as a singer, for lack of a better term.

Fantasia has a strong voice, but only on certain songs, otherwise she's WAY too nasal. Songs have to be tailor-made or carefully selected for Fantasia's voice in order for the nasal thing to be kept to a minimum, whereas Diana is much more versatile.

No matter who is announced Wednesday night as the next American Idol, they both win. Diana and Fantasia have gotten more than enough exposure to ensure-- at least limited-- music careers.

Record companies couldn't really ask for better auditions.
