Well just got back from the festival. All I can say it was KICK ASS! There were so many people in period attire and there all for the show. Walking around and interacting with you.
They would break out in sword fights with each other of insults, Minstrels, Maidens, knights etc.
Spent the day watching 2 jousting matches, Human Chess, a couple of music groups: one called Minstrels of Mayhem that was hilarious as well as good music. A falconer, Glass Blowing, and oh god - not sure what else. I ended up taking over 180 photos, 90 of just the jousting!
Once I get them developed and scanned in I'll share.
We are debating on going back tomorrow to pick up the few small things we missed, but out legs may not be up to it! 8 hours in the sun and walking around has made us "old" people tired!

Kick ass -meg. When we were living in Italy we went to the original human chess game. The chess match only lasted about 45 minutes but the pre-game and post-game made it a 4+ hour event, lol. I'll see if I can dig up some of the pics and scan them in tomorrow.

That would be cool.
This one was meant for the show of it, and didn't go over 25 minutes as it was on the same field area as the Joust.
They had the moves choreographed, and the fights between the characters rehearsed to a fine show.
Very worthwhile though! A good half hour!
