I'm probably in the minority, but I don't want to know too much about actors off screen. I don't want to know where they live and who they date, and what kind of wedding they had.........
... because then you don't see a character on screen, you always see the actor who's "playing a character." It's more difficult for me to get absorbed into the movie and instead I'm constantly being reminded that "It's JUST a movie."
The true test is when you're explaining about the movie to someone and you keep referring to the Actor's name instead of the Character's name.
(Keeping this relevant to comic movies) I thought Toby McGuire, Hughe Jackman, and Wesley Snipes "became" their characters pretty successfully. Val Kilmer, Shaquille O'Neil, Hallie Berry, Ben Affleck, and Jennifer Garner were always themselves on screen and not the character.
Based on Alba's average acting ability, I'm afraid it will always be "There's the Fantastic Four... no wait, one of them is Jessica Alba!"
