So much for batman begins
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, because the entire film hinges on the costume alone.

Batman Begins has a great writer in David S. Goyer and a fantastic director in Christopher Nolan, not to mention an amazing cast that most filmmakers would kill to have.

That somehow is discredited because you don't like the costume?

What a bunch of fucking crybaby fanboys.

From David Goyer's panel at SDCC:

"In terms of avoiding the problems of the previous films, they approached the film from the standpoint that fortunately "Batman" is the most realistic of all the costumed superheroes. If he was going to wear a suit, they need to know what would he need to do it, and what would be required - that was the rule. Technology employed had to be exisiting, be shown in the marketplace in the next ten years or so, or already be in development at the Department of Defense."

i don't get how that suit acts as armor
it looks like leather/rubber

how does that protect from bullets?

i don't know, for such an iconic character
even if it seems impractical i think sticking with the source material design would be the way to go...

i am gonna go with another drastic example....
what if they changed supermans suit...that wouldn't fly

sure batman doesn't have to have the tights and all but i think that tights represent these characters

that's mainly because there'd be no reason to mess with Superman's suit. The only time that's ever happened is when some asshole was handed the job, and didn't know what he was doing (excluding Burton of course......he just likes black)

So you're saying that Keaton's Batman costume wasn't right for the character?

You can not make a Batman movie and have him fighting criminals with guns, fighting martial artists who can kick through a concrete wall, fighting people who could, in 2 seconds, kill a normal human with one action, while he's running around in pajamas. It's just not feasible. While I understand people being purists, you simply can't make a believable Batman movie without putting him in some sort of armor.

The armor he wears is experimental, light as a feather military armor that Wayne Enterprises is developing for a military contract. It could be Kevlar or something stronger, I'm not exactly sure what it is. Remember in the original film when the thugs shoot Batman and he just keeps getting up and coming after them? You can't do that with spandex.
