    Hi guys!
I have heard so many good things about excalibur (or at least the early days) and I was wondering which ones are "must have" for begining a collection(elf-intensive, of course). So far, I have only read the first issue, but it seemed like a really good series. At any rate, thanks for the help smile

Anything by Alan Davis is worth looking at. Try issues 1-50 or so. I think he did a few after that but I don't remember the number he left at (I do remember the comic, just not the #).

Wierd worls III really stunk IMHO, but the other issues you mentioned are exellent. I agree, Alan davis did all the best issues. Some of the later issues, after, say, #90 are okay too. My personal all time favourite is #42. I've kicked it online on http://www.blue-elf.com/excal42.html , for enlightenment of the masses. Don't tell Marvel though...

Alan Davis wrote and (mostly) drew the series from #42 to #67...all of his stuff is pretty much excellent. He didn't do the pencils for #57 and #58...Joe Madureira did...but it's a great story (in my opinion)...Kurt and Kitty are finally reunited with the X-Men...and it seems Nightcrawler's gone bad (and where does Scott get off calling Kurt 'son'...he's what...a few years older...tops?)

After Davis' departure the book pretty much lost its edge...it's still pretty good...but it's pretty much like any other X-Book...

There's a couple of bookselfs too that you might want to look at...The Sword Is Drawn (the group's forming...and Kurt drops a drunking Brian in the drink...priceless), Weird World III, Mojo Madness is drawn by Art Adams, but it's nearly all Kitty...can't think of any others off the top of my head...

I was just naming things off the top of my head...might have to go check out WWIII again...been a while since I read it...

But, generally speaking, if it's got Kurt in it...I basically buy it...
