I'm working, I won't be watching tonight. But the question is, will you be watching regularly or just when the opportunity presents itself or when something really interesting is on?
Now, I know AsIs IS there, so her answer is obvious...
What about the opening ceremonies? I admit I watched them. They're one of the few things that I wanted to see. I though having the 1980 Hockey team lighting the torch was very cool. I thought the presentations of the "history" of Utah was overblown and weird, but had some really nice props...I thought the ariel footage was very well done. I was fascinated by the fact that India is a country of 1.1 BILLION people, yet they only have one athlete competing...

i caught the 5000m male's skating around in circles event at my cousin's, but then we changed the channel. i'm not planning on watching any of it, unless i happen to see bits while channel-surfing. i prefer the summer olympics (although those can be boring too).

Sure why not the gold medal in Curling for the Canadians...it's not like they can win a gold medal in HOCKEY...

Ooh, OUCH! I'll let our Canadian friends here touch THAT one (or save their energy for the Russians).
I know what curling is! It's from that character in Peanuts, the one with the "naturally curling hair".
....Or is it one of the Three Stooges?
I watched the opening ceremonies(save for an hour of Cheers on Nick-at-Night). I'm not a sports fan, so I won't see much this month prolly. I found the part with the WTC flag very moving. Even the President had tears rolling down.

God! Was not the opening ceremony gorgeous!
I loved the native american dances- not to mention the ho-down and the history of Utah, golden spike train!
(They had Robbie Robertson sing- excuse me as I squeal with pleasure!)
Now- sports. What's happening with the sports part of it?

I watched Kelly Clark win the first gold for the US.
I also watched the Canadian ice figure pair get robbed. I don't understand the technicalities of figure skating, but it seems to me that if one couple skates their routine flawlessly while the other has an obvious mistake that the winner would not be disputed.

Many years ago...remember how difficult if was for the USA to win any kind of medals in the Winter Games. It just wasn't something that happened in bulk...so what does America do? Goes out and invents sports thatonly Americans are really going to "get". I mean, come on, what the hell...half-pipe? Yeesh....

Snowboarding is a sport for Gen X. The champion said this week he never ate Wheaties in his life; he ate Count Chocula. The snowboard had a skeleton painted on the bottom. "Totally awesome!"
