Kodak Ektasound 2458 projector

I have a Kodak super 8 Ektasound 2458 projector that turns the film to slow, any suggestions? thanks bill

I hope this is a good idea that I am about to suggest, if the projector will run with no film in it, just let it run for a while. I also would experiment with fast forward winding and rewinding just to try and get the projector "ungummed" from possibly several years of non use.

I also would not leave the projector unattended by a qualified adult since it is older technology.
