I hate to use the term "run & gun", but since the camera person had gotten back out of his car for a quickie shot, it seems he would have been better served with a very small, compact digital camera for the grab & go kind of shot he was after.
I agree that many Super-8 cameras have a similiarity in design to guns.

Tragic.
But if I thought it was a RPG launcher I'd have opened fire too.
I keep thinking how my Minolta and Elmo, with their pistol grips, could be mistaken for weapons.

At first glance my Elmo looks like the Mac 10 in El Mariachi.
