SUPER-8 LIVES?
Remember Super-8 movie cameras? They shot four minutes of modest-quality silent movies on film, were simple to use, and cheap. Could Intel's new Digital Movie Creator, which captures four minutes of VGA-quality video, has four easy-to-use buttons (it's being marketed to the eight-and-up crowd) and costs but $100 on the street, be Super-8's digital reincarnation? DMC also captures 1,200 VGA still images; entertainment software, image editing, USB connectivity are also included. It works only on Windows operating systems. Required: 266MHz, 64MB of RAM, 300MB hard disc space, sound card, CD-ROM drive. Info: www.intelplay.com; 800-583-3373.

More likely the beginning of the end for moving memory. A feature that was an add on to digital cameras begining to go mainstream.

I like the phrase..."modest quality"....they obviously only watched grandpa's regular 8 home movies, and never saw what a properly lit, properly photographed super 8 image could look like....that camera they showed is cool looking, but i'm sure the images they produce are sub-par....mike

The latest camcorder magazine has a picture on the cover, and the video camera has now sprouted a "handle", effectively making the camera look Super-8 ish.
