Since I have not yet looked into any editing software, I was wondering what are some of the best programs for editing, what are the requirements for my computer to run the software and if needed, what else helps to make a good movie off of my computer? My friends have mentioned mixing boards. Is one of those needed to make a movie? Thanks again to whomever can help me!

Well if it's software you looking for then I would recomment Adobe Premier. You get a timeline, multiple audio/video tracks ... etc. It is capable of doing all the usual fade effects and blue screening etc.

However you'll need a big fast hard drive, fast processor and lots of ram to get the best out of it. Capturing the footage is generally the demanding part.
