I want to make a movie, but i dunno what type of camera i should get. Is a regular video camera ok or do i need a special movie camera? Any help would be appreciated thank you!

If you've got the money, get a mini DV camcorder so you can edit onto your computer. Having DV-in as well as DV-out is a must so you can upload it back onto your camera and easily transfer it to VHS. Panasonic DS NV28 is a good low priced camera with plenty of features. Sony is also a good bet (remember DV-in).
Buy a good magazine and browse through the reviews in the back.
Finally, I suggest you hop to the eXposure discussion group to get more interest. No one except me seems to come to this board!

The type of camera wont really make a great deal of difference. I have shot stuff on S-VHS, Hi-8, DV but my favourite is super 8 film. It is silent and has the home movie look.
What is important is that you frame the shot well and keep it steady. Editing is always something to keep in mind when shooting. Always think about your cut-aways (close ups) and if you make a camea move be sure to have a definate end point and hold it for several second so you can cut to the next shot/scene or dissolven out.

The best value for the money when it comes to digital mini-dv format is the sony VX-2000.
The best value for the money in Super-8 may be the Canon 1014XLS or Canon 814XLS, or perhaps the Elmo 1012XLS.
