I was thinking about getting a nice cozy lazy boy, pulling it up to my short desk, and editing my half hour super 8 film.

On the desk I see two very nice rewinds, a light board, a slip in load editor with the arms detached, and my Wurker splicer; with of course my two frame splice tapes. Oh yes and a bottle of white wine.

***and then I wake up*** and look at my desk and see nothing. Does anyone know where I can get good super 8 rewinds, and a good light board. I looked on ebay and rewinds are hardly ever on there. Most importantly does anyone know of a good editor that you can easily remove the arms off of, and that has slip in loading, no threading.

the problem with white wine is that it's so expensive. i've never seen a bottle for under $15 ($10 in europe, $20 in nyc) that you could actually drink at all, except maybe for turning leaf's 1999 coastal chardonnay, wich is actually excellent for the price.

anyway, you can get at least three decent reds for that, like the 2001 chilean sunrise merlot.

if you're in the u.s., forget about south african wines, since they are way too expensive, but otherwise, try the douglas green 2000 pinotage. best wine with your spaghetti bolognese for sure.

i could give you more, but these are my favorites among the ones you can find in virtually any liqour store in the world. if you go to france, there's obviously more to chose from...

Lotsa comedians on the board these days. ;]

I have a similar set up -- but I was able to get the rewinds you are speaking of off of e-bay for under $20.00! Did you check the film accessories section (or whatever its called)? I haven't checked lately but I recall seeing them fairly often. I think Urbanski Film Supplies sells them for around $40 or so.

Me, I prefer a nice 2001 Arbor Mist Peach Chardonnay. It goes very well with day-old pizza.

The best way to edit is with a bottle of dry red Italian country wine, f.e. "Montepulciano di Abruzzi". Red is better for not mixing it up with cement. And it?s not so expensive as you guys are posting. It?s far under EUR 5. My favourite white one is the "Frascati" and it?s in the same price range...
