    Hello,
    I'm new to super 8
I have a cinerex projector (model no 707) but no manual, & my films keep getting chewed, usually near the start Does anyone have a copy of the manual, or any advice as to what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks

Look this link over carefully, theres a lot to go over.

Are the the take-up and source reels providing the proper torque? How do you tell, I think you can turn them on and hold the spindle and just feel how much torque they are putting out before the clutch engages.

Just listen to the sounds the machine makes.

Check the film path for any film chards.

Does the unit have a sound head...that could cause the problem.

Is the projector "eating" film around splice points?

Try running leader only through the projector...although that can ruin a faulty projector because leader doesn't rip as easily...forget that idea.

Do you understand how the loop function works?

A projector with a Rex in the name reminds me of a dinosaur in search of a film meal.

    Alex
