They dont make cameras! They sell Beaulieu 4008ZMII S8 cameras rebuilt or with the recently released parts from Beaulieu. The cameras are great but not from them go to Ebay and get one for $300. But the one from Pro8 will have a warranty. Stay away from their film and buy K40. Ask Matt P. and he will tell you the same thing. For the cost of Pro 8 film you should be looking into a 16mm camera instead.

    The whole "Pro8mm" thing is a near-scam.
The best looking footage on Super 8 will be had using Kodachrome 40 film, which you can order directly from Kodak for under $11.00 a roll, and process using PK-59 mailers from B&H camera in New York.
Super 8 Sound/Pro8mm have the worse reputation of any company I've ever heard of in my life, and my personal experiences confirm that to me.
    Rude, dishonest, overpriced, and overrated.
If you want a NEW one of these cameras, contact the Widescreen Centre in London. (They have a website)
They sell NEW Beaulieu 4008ZMII S8 cameras, unlike Super 8 SOund/Pro8mm, who refurbish used ones and stick their own label on it, pretending they make them.
Beaulieu has started remaking the 4008ZMII S8, and as far as I know, Widescreen Center is the only place you can get them.
I would much rather do that, than deal with the snobs at Super 8 SOund/Pro8mm.

If you just MUST shoot on Super 8 neg stock, buy it directly from Kodak and get it processed somewhere like Yale in North Hollywood, CA.

No, there is definitly no NEW beaulieu cameras .They don't manufacture any new body .The 9008 was not a Beaulieu camera :it's a wittner Kinotechnik modified 7008 .Beaulieu don't manufacture anymore S8 stuff .The reconditioned 6008 pro are in fact 6008S modified to pro ( a very cool modification ) .I suggest to every one who bought a second hand Beaulieu camera to ask reconditioning from Beaulieu-image .As you surely know ,before every professional shooting ,pro's are doing lot's of test on the camera like lens calibration ,steadiness ,ect.... We don't have to do it as often as them but one's after buying the camera is kind of a minimum .

Then the Widescreen Centre in London are as dishonest as Super 8 Sound, because they are clearly stating so.
They even sent me a brochure on the camera, clearly stating that Bealieu had tooled up and started making them again, because they had become so popular again.

(I'm guessing this is in response to Super 8 Sound selling lots of them, similar to Kodak's response to Super 8 SOund making Neg stock: then Kodak made their own Super 8 neg stock)
I'm going to email Jake at the Widescreen Centre, and see what the real story is.
