Is anyone still praticing double system sound
super 8 filmmaking? i've just about got everything i need to get started at this point.i considered how much work i'll have to do and the money that this will take,
but for me theres no hurry.everything i know about super 8 film making has been self taught, one way or another(no schooling)
(no fancy a-- writing)(no groups of this interest to join)(no feedback from anyone)
i must say, this is a big personal challenge.

Uh, since sound-striped film has been discontinued by Kodak for nearly ten years, double-system sound is the only way to shoot synch sound. Many filmmakers here and elsewhere utilize it when shooting material that requires synched dialogue. Crystal synch is the preferred method of double-system sound...but you probably already know that!

I've never shot any type of synch (crystal or pulse), but the only expense I foresee is film stock since all you can get from those S8 cartridges is two minutes and twenty seconds of footage.

Hope that helps and good luck.

    Tom
