I've shot 100T and found it ok on some shots, but too grainy over all. And I rated the stuff at ASA 50. I have to agree the costs of Super-8 negative is too expensive when compared to 16mm, especially when you can get short ends cheap. Also, I have .10 a foot for processing through Crest National.

Now, K40 for Super-8 is great. I'm still using it and just shot some this summer on a feature for some flashbacks. Very cool. I'm still trying to figure a way to shoot a feature on S8, cheaply.

    Well, I did it!
But honestly, the results compared to 16mm are so inferior, that I doubt I'd ever do a feature in S8 again. S8 K-40 looks great IF absolutely everything is perfect, which is just so rarely the case, in my experience.
But I must admit, shooting K-40 on a nice overcast day, with nice soft shadows... it can't be beat.
Too bad we have about 12 days like that here in Northern California!
We should all move to England to shoot Super 8!

Matt, head on over to the City.
My neighborhood was like that 90% of the time!
Of course about all you could shoot in my neighborhood would be a "Cops" ripoff.

Glad to be out of the City and into some nice weather...

NO, come to Pittsburgh, man, it's the gray days time of year here now even though they say we have the most clear skys of the year for viewing the stars at this time. It's gray and drizzly today and I just got back from gallery hopping, viewing plein-air city painters. One place was in Larenceville; that is so inner city it's like a different city, wow, I just want to get a camera and spray the whole place non stop. Kodachrome 16mm on a day like this with all that texture and detail and cars and fences and roofs and fat people and drain pipes and and and
    gives me the shivvers
