Hi, me and a friend are making a short film using super-8, and I had a question regarding digital transfer. How much does it cost per roll of film? Where can I get it done? How does it work?
I was also thinking, if I were to go digital, would it be wise to edit manually and get it transfered to digital to put the sound on, or just get everything transfered to digital and edit it on the computer?
Thanks for any help.

It can cost as much as 300.00 per hour. It all depends on quality.
You can get a basic "Film Chain" transfer for pretty cheap.
Just do some searching and think about your means as well as your plans for the final product.
Good Luck

Check out the details under Process/Telecine on www.onsuper8.org where we have listed numerous telecine options from DIY to the most expensive pro-options. Basically you pay for what you get (although there are exceptions to the rule).
