Shooting a short... With all of you?

I'm not here to fight, nor to care if you're in Prague this summer - but;

What is everyone up to in July? Will anyone have a free week to shoot a narrative short somewhere in central/southern UK?

A collaborative effort between all who visit this forum could be good. Everyone has worthy talent. And a short would mean working together but not for so long a period that we start killing each other.. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

If anyone's interested in a quick colloboration please reply!! I'm only looking for people who are serious about collaboration - and SERIOUSLY believe they will be free in JULY, or will be able to be free in JULY should I get dates out ASAP.

Previous experience preffered! Anyone who has activley contributed in the past to the production of a (ANY) film,short,dv short or feature,music video,documentary etc is eligible! That includes script writing, editing, set design as well as directing, camerawork etc.

Also, in America I've heard of compeitions where you are given a room, a bundle of random props and 5 hours to shoot a 5 minute short etc.. Does something similar run in the UK? If not, I'm interested to set up my own annual competition like that - would anyone be interested in attending? It would be slightly more ambitious than the above.

Yep id be interested in that, sounds a lot of fun to be honest.

My experience is pretty minimal ? I?ve written tons of scripts and I?ve directed 3 shorts so far and are working on a couple more - but again nothing ground braking. I?ve done one or two short film courses and I?ve had a lot of editing experience, both my own and other peoples projects.

I live in London but I?m pretty familiar with oxford. Id be up for this.

That's a great idea mOds! Hopefully it won't be just a clash of egos and ideas with everyone pushing and pulling in different directions. That's something you'll have to think about and resolve early IMO.

(I won't be free in July though - but go for it!)

Is this going to be a film made by 6 different directors?

That's trouble.

Seems like there's much to consider and plan for this, like in any film.

Will everyone alternate between positions - that seems like a bad idea.
Who will DP?
Who are the editors?(actually you can all do that and therefore have individually different films)
Who will direct?
Who has connections to talented and reliable actors?
Who has a script that can be produced realistically? Will everyone be enthusiastic with that script idea?

I'm just offering what I think would be some of the most crucial questions, for now. I'd be curious to see how many people actually do commit to this and what the end result would be.
