I'm going to give a go on a one room screenplay and post it in a few days. Might give you some ideas, might not.

I have a concept idea for a film that I think would be quite easy to make, its called Inner Demons. I can write a short treatment for it if anyone is interested - the main problem is id want to direct it since I?ve been working on it for a wile - or at least direct some of it.

Right, this is taking too fucking long. So there:

    1) This is the script we are going to film. Nothing groundbreaking and nothing complicated. Just a test to see if we can actually pull something like this off instead of just talking about it:

    http://testicles.homestead.com/files/helpless.rtf

Once we managed to finish this we can proceed to the more ambitious stuff.

    2) Positions:

    Director: jb

    DOP: chance1234

    camera operator: assyrix

    storyboarding: kigo

editing: Brooks Productions (you must have the ability to edit DigiBeta footage - I can copy it as an uncompressed avi-stream to a disk if you cannot grab raw footage of the tape)

    title and visual effects: Vertigo

boom operator and sound mixer: curtinparloe (you originally wanted to edit but Brooks Productions beat you to that - is this okay as a second choice?)

We still need casting, music composer and a producer. I can do the music and casting (talentcircle et al is your friend) and would suggest that everyone involved chips in a bit of cash for the production. Can quickly create a financial report if required. I would also strongly recommend paying the actors.

Shooting for this script will be done with in a day.

I can do every weekend in July. How about you guys? If people need to crash I can provide space for two people / couples (two bedroom flat). Anybody else has space for people who come to London just for the shoot?

    Update:

    Musician: Vlad the Impaler

Sound Mixer + Boom (don't worry, it's not heavy): curtinparloe

Brooks Productions, you do not need to be on set but are warmly welcome nevertheless. Can you retrieve footage from a DigiBeta tape? If not I can either send you the footage on a number of DVD+Rs or meet up and copy the footage across from my disks.

    THE BUDGET
    ----------

    Item Quantity Cost (Incl.VAT)
    -----------------------------------------------
    Actor's Rates 3 people ?633.00
    (equity rates)
    Tapes 2 items ? 26.00
    Transfers 48 minutes ? 60.00
    DVDs 15 pieces ? 75.00
    Insurance 1/365 years ? 2.00
(can be part of someone's annual insurance - if we just take insurance for the shoot it will be more expensive)
    Catering 1 meal/snacks ? 69.00

Total cost is therefore ?865. Obvious ways to cut costs is not to pay the actors but I prefer to pay them so a) I can horribly abuse them which I probably won't have to since they will have learned their lines proper b) without paying them the rest of the budget is pocket money resulting in people not taking it seriously and therefore not turning up / putting an effort into it.

NOT BUDGETED: crew (us "paying" for it), equipment (us), location (me), electricity (me), transport (us), accommodation (us)

    LOCATION:
    ---------

Greenwich Millenium Village in London SE10. Closest tube North Greenwich (zone 2), easy reach from Waterloo, Stratford and London Bridge. Spacious and power outlets everywhere to enable proper shooting as well as very little disturbance by the neighbours.

    DATE OF SHOOT:
    --------------

    Saturday 2nd July 2005.

    Alternative dates are 3rd July 2005, 9th/10th July 2005, 16th/17th July 2005, 23th/24th July 2005, 30th/31st July 2005 (all Saturdays / Sundays).

    TIME SCALE:
    -----------

    Shoot: 2nd July 2005

Raw footage delivery to editor by: 8th July 2005

Edit finishes (includes adding sound, music and special effects by: 29th July 2005

Export back to DigiBeta and DVDs distributed to all participants by: 5th August 2005

After that, it's up to us what we want to do with it...

    THE SCRIPT
    ----------

    See my previous post.

So - who's in, who's out? Further suggestions?

Read the script this morning and will start working on it over the weekend. Do you have a deadline for when you want the boards done by?

I'll try to have drafts done as soon as i can, though. We can then discuss how you want the shots to look and change the boards to match.

If you have any ideas of shots or notes of how you want things to look then let me know.

It would be a big bonus if you had stills of the sets you plan to use. It would make the boards more accurate. If not, I'll get on with it anyway!
