If I were to film my actors before a green screen, not moving, but just sitting there, and I wanted to throw in a sunset or maybe a lake or something in the keyed area, and I have no access to any video of a sunset or lake I'd have to google an image of said background. The only problem is having a static background looks even more fake than a video.

I've tried blurring the backgound, faking a shallow dof, which helps, but still looks fake.

I wonder if there is any effects out there that gives the slightest shimmer, diffused on probably the gamma channel. Not like heat waves or anything, just an ever so slight movement. Any ideas?

I have an idea that may work. Animate a flock of birds flying in the back ground. That will add some movement to the background and distract from the static feel of the image.

Animating a flock of birds like this is extremely easy in AE and doesn't take very long. If your interested in this idea ill see if i can dig out the tutorial for it.

I'm trying the flock of birds idea. It seems to work.
