do you have enough footage to make something coherent? even if you cut your losses and end up with a short, at least you'll get closure and "finishedness".

To edit Crooked Features I dedicated a whole 14 days of my life to it. Every day, editing. From capture to rough cut to final cut. It's difficult (and capture is ever so slightly fucking tedious). It gets more difficult when you start showing it to people who then start making suggestions for changes ..... and so it goes on. But in that 2 weeks I got the main meat of the final cut completed, including audio clean-up (there are a lot more J and L cuts in Crooked Features than you could ever imagine).

Make an appointment with yourself and the rough-cut in advance. Take the day off. Go through the cut in the morning thinking about structure. Go through the cut in the afternoon thinking about sound effects and music cues. That's what I'd do. And it's really easy to say :-)
