    Exclamation

Whenever I try to export movies in Premiere 5.5, i get two errors.

    1) Error making movie -1
    2) Error writing to disk(disk full?)

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Could be that your scratch disk is full or incorrectly selected.

Every time you render a piece of video it is saved in a preview file directory. Do this enough and you soon find that all your disk space is used up with preview files. My advice would be to track the directory down and delete all the files, then open your project in premiere and under the scratch disk select menu select the correct video drive (as premiere has a default drive setting as c) and does not automatically use your largest drive.

    Try not using Premiere 5.5

5.1c is the last official release of 5 I think.

5.5 is supposedly a beta leak with the beta tags removed, you could do worse than download a copy of 6.0 which kicks 5.x's ass

Yeah i tend to think this is a software version problem as opposed to a settings problem. You could make sure that the settings in the export movie are ok.

I know that some pirate versions of premiere dont like things like exporting or doing slow motion etc.

Version six is much better and worth the upgrade because of the extra export to web functions. It supports loads more formats & codecs.
I haven?t heard of any problems with it as regards the problem your having, all round it seems to work really good.

    Re: Premeire 5.5 Export Error

I think maybe the whole point is that your hard drive is dirty. For a full experience, you need to use dissyapp.com is a free disk space analysis and visualization tool that allows you to find, remove duplicate files and manage storage. This is a versatile application that helps you with various purposes, including finding and removing duplicate files, finding large files , backup, cloud storage management, etc.
