I'm moving to Brisbane from London next in two weeks, and a friend of mine convinced me to get an account so I can post pics up and stuff. As soon as I did I was contacted by loads of people I went to school with. They're nice enough people, but there was a reason we hadn't spoken in 11 years.

What brings you to Brisbane, Richard?
Work. I'm going to the Mater Hospital, to work in the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Department. There were some well publicised (over here at least) problems with a new application process for junior doctors training programs, and I like many in a similar position felt we had no control whatsoever over what was going on, so have decided to use the excuse to go abroad and train abroad for a few years. I'm afraid there's going to be a mass influx of pommy doctors on August 1st.
My girlfriend works at the Mater sometimes, she works for S&N Pathology. Apparently the influx has already begun.
