The good news is that I've been offered a new, permanent job starting Monday.
The bad news is that its in a call centre.
I've effectively sold my soul to the Devil.
Ah, well.

I quit because:
they lied to me about weekend work (told me definitely Monday-Friday when they offered me the job, told me Saturdays were part of the shift at today's induction)
of their policy whereby if you quit before 3 months' service, they actually CHARGE you up to ?300 for the cost of your training
I didn't like the actual working environment of the call suites once I'd actually been inside one
too many rules and regulations, whereby even putting a holiday in requires a lot of effort and bureacacy
and because the 12-PAGE (!!!) contract contained so many clauses which were skimmed over in the induction that I refused to sign it until I could take it home and read through it thoroughly

Good news!
Managed to land another job... a decent one this time.
I'm gonna be an Administrator working at the Learning & Skills Council, a Government body set up to help young people to get into training and further education.
Permanent job, decent salary, good benefits, etc.
All my persistence has finally paid off.
