Has anyone seen "Garth Merenghi's Dark Place" yet on Channel 4 Thurs 1030? Its a really good take on the poor grasp of film language, story telling, acting, effects and production values of some 70's and 80's tv. The scripts, excecution and performances are hilarious and redolent of some of the shite we new directors try to foist on an unsuspecting audience. I dare you all to watch this and not feel pricked by the shame of recognising elements of your own style and mistakes you have made in your own projects. It might even be an education to some of us!
"I just sit there and start typing, the trick is getting the words in the correct order." Garth Merenghi (on his muse and creative flow)

I love this show - it's so funny. Garth Marenghi's website is also very entertaining.
The whole thing reminds me of a few amateur films I've seen in the past.
Phil, remember 'Cry of the Raven'?

Yeah I do. It was a lot funnier than Darkplace, probably because it came from a sincere place and not a mocking one.
