If you were stranded on a remote desert island, with only a multi-region DVD player and widescreen TV for company (could happen), which FIVE films from your collection would you like to have with you?

I assume the DVD player has a decent 5.1/DTS setup.

I was going to add The Who Live at The Royal Albert Hall, but its not really a film.

Anyway, heres my list.

1. The Italian Job
2. The Blues Brothers
3. Payback
4. Rocky Horror Picture Show
5. 8mm

I've watched all of my collection over the last couple of months, some more that once - that's the boredom that comes with a broken arm for you. Anyway, my choices:

1. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: Criterion Edition (if only for the bizarre commentary with Hunter S. Thompson making weird noises. Oh and because I had to pay an ?8 customs charge for it so I'm fucked if I'm leaving it at home)
2. Midnight Run (I don't know why, it's just like an old friend)
3. Evil Dead: Book of the Dead Edition (so when I get bored with the film I can play with the squishy foam-latex cover)
4. The Thing (because it's ace and so's Kurt Russell's beard)
5. Band of Brothers (boxset) (10 hours of harrowing war, plus extras should keep me busy for a while)

'The Holy Grail' is better than 'Life Of Brian' IMO.

No chance.

Grail has very little actual storyline and no ending.

And Brian is at least twice as funny.

Wink

Hmm, only 5 eh?
For me it has to be:

1)Seven Samurai
2)Taxi Driver
3)Texas Chainsaw Massacre
4)American Beauty
5)'24' Series 1 Box Set (18 hours of viewing, plus box opens out so big that could possibly be used as raft to return to the rest of my collection.)

Okay, I'd better do mine.

From my sparse collection, I'll go for...

Swingers Special Edition
Pulp Fiction Special Edition
Fight Club
Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Stop Making Sense (gotta have something to dance to on a desert island)

Hello everyone,

My fav five would be (in no order):

'Battle Royale'
and erm... 'Scream'
