No-one should use 16mm film in this day and age for a first feature. We considered it but the costs are too prohibitive.
If you make a feature and it's shit you'll be in a LOT of debt.
Anyone else in here ventured into some of the other 'Movies and Film' forums on hostboard?
Honestly, I've never read so much rubbish in my life. Half the reason filmmakers aren't taken seriously is that so many people claim to be one... for example : http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ult...c&f=410&t=4952
Okay, so this guy can plead ignorance, but come on!
Or is it just me that's pulling my hair out?

All true Phil, I agree. But the real problem I had with that post was the absolutely unbelievable ignorance the guy/ kid had about filmmaking! Didn't have a clue what he was on about, oh, but he'd considered using magic to conjure up a film camera, some stock, a crew and a free film lab!
Yeah, I'm ranting- I know, but I've met people like him and they really piss me off, because you can bet 2 weeks after you meet them they've got past the phase of wanting to be a filmmaker and now they want to be a pilot or a scuba diver- and don't have a clue about that either! Idiots!
