I belive you can get DVD-camcorders now, to save you messing about with tape.
Just shoot directly onto DVD, pop it into your PC and manipulate it as required.
Wouldn't have a clue as to make and models though.
Whats the best camera to use for movies you want to transfer onto your computer? What I mean is im not interested in making a movie on tape and then trying to edit that. I want to film the movie and then be able to transfer what I have onto a hard drive as perhaps an MPEG. I then wish to use computer software to edit the film.

Do you mean you want to shoot onto FILM not TAPE then edit it onto your computer? Or do you mean you don't want to do a linear edit?
(I'll assume the latter
Most Mini-DV cameras have a DV Out port. With a firewire cable you can connect it to your video card and export your digital footage onto your hard-drive.
From there you can edit it. The most basic package is included in WINDOWS OS- Windows Movie-maker, or you could buy an editing package such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Avid etc.
