me a last minute spot in their festival of music. I hear that all of the
other acts on the bill are excellent, and I've been to three nights of the
festival so far and have yet to see a bad performance. If you dig pop music,
this is the place to be."

"Those of you who saw my last show with Anya Marina know how entertaining
she can be. I think we are great double bill. We're both sarcastic, melodic,

    Come on down."

just a word on International Pop Overthrow: i attended the IPO festival last month and saw some really great bands and NONE THAT SUCKED. i'm really looking forward to this bill.

    Hi Everyone,

Our next IPO Presents show is on Friday, August 30, at The AlterKnit Lounge, 7021 Hollywood Boulevard and it's FREE for everyone who performed at IPO! $5 for everyone else.

    Here is the lineup:

8:00 Andras Jones: Wonderful singer/songwriter from Olympia, Washington, who is every bit as clever as he is personable. Jones was the mainman of the band The Previous, whose ironically titled "Unpop" CD is just excellent.
Since then he's released several solo CDs, and has written an eye-opening "Pop Manifesto" that you've just got to read!

8:45 Joe HUTCHinson: Singer/songwriter of the excellent band Hutch goes it alone for this performance. Hutch's new Smile Records CD, Turn It Around, rocks with great pop melodies, and when Joe sings these songs (and others) by himself, you can really hear the beauty in his voice.

9:30 Cosmo Topper: The top-hatted irrespresible Morley Bartnoff leads this ensemble whose last CD, Pure Fast Vibration, is quirky and entertaining, kinda like The Who meets The Negro Problem (or something!). They're recording their upcoming CD, Cosmo Topper II (How We Make Things Happen!!) as we speak, so I'm sure you'll hear plenty of tracks from that one at Cosmo's IPO Presents show!

10:30 Peachfuzz: This L.A. band's brand of punchy pop is as infectuous as a baby with a cold. Their CD Poppycock rocks with the best of them, but these songs come off even better live! Plus, the transcendent Israeli band Rockfour is one of their biggest fans...what more can you ask??

    Hi.
As some of you may know, I have been spending most of this last year in Hollywood.

It's not as bad as it sounds.

I went there looking for acting jobs but what I have found myself doing mostly is working as a song doctor/collaborator with some really great musicians, performers, and writers.

Among these, I am proud to be working with
    Willie Wisely - http://www.wiselylive.com/
    Lisa Jenio -
    http://www.spectatoronline.com/2001-...iscology3.html
    and
    Andy Dick - http://www.andydick.com/

but, with all due respect to their considerable talents, the artist that i am most excited to be working with is...

    ANDY SHMUSHKIN.

I wrote a song for him called "Punkin Lovin'"
    that is currently featured on
    The National Lampoon website -
    http://www.nationallampoon.com/shmushkin/andy.asp

I urge all of you to check this song and video out before Halloween. You'll never think the same way about a pumpkin again.
