though smoking is totally wrong, for numerous obvious reasons that people would rather ignore, i feel taxing it properly would do little good.
more sneaky bastards would import them on the sly, and it would just give a ridiculous boys-club government more money to waste.
besides, they get more than enough from privatising public services, selling arms to countries like east timour and kick backs from multi-millionaires, who thanks to convenient loop holes, don't even pay income tax.
i belive about 60% of litter is tabacco related, along with all the deaths of smokers and non, that's quite a little problem all you sick fucks are creating.
if had my way smoking would be banned from all public places, which sounds crazy at first, even to me. The image of myself sat at a blackjack table complaining about how the guy next to me smokes like a fucking chimney, provides unavoidable amusement.

Even if tax was risen on fags the majority of smokers wouldnt quit.
Tax is raised all the time. The first pack of fags i bought was 10 lambert and butler, cost me one pound and one pence, you'd now expect to pay twice that amount. So in the past 6 years prices have doubled, but i still smoke. I'm sure if tax keeps on raising i will continue to smoke. I like it, i'm not a bad person for doing it, i don't feel guilty about it and i know there are health risks involved.
