I'm note sure if anyone on this board knows who Mark Ledford was. He was one of the most extraordinary singers on the planet who also was very proficient at the trumpet and guitar. He was known mostly for his work with the best version of the Pat Metheny Group.
I just found this on HASSY's site:

I was informed today that singer/multi-instrumentalist, Mark Ledford passed away this morning. I'm not yet informed what caused this super talent's untimely passing. I was just on the road with Mark with Manhattan Vibes in Greece about 3 weeks ago.
I'm saddened by this tragedy, and my sympathies go out to his wife and children.
Rest in peace Mark we'll miss you.
Steve
For photos of Mark's last performance with Manhattan Vibes (Steve Hass, Mike Pope(chick corea), and Donny McCaslin. Go here:http://www.stevehass.net/discus/mess...tml?1099965346

what a voice he had. I heard him durring a SLN compilation from a friend of mine. I was really hoping to hear him live when Matheny returned to Denmark. but saddenly this is unlikely gonna be the case.
Deepest condolences to his familym, they should be proud of their son/father. his voice will be remembered in one of the gre?test groups in jazz/fusions and television moments.
God bless his soul.
