I actually didn't hear of either DW, VC, DC, or VD via MD [say that 20 times quickly - how's that for rhyming acronyms]...so I guess that means MD owes them... ;cp

LOL mat...yer crackin me up [don't respond to that!]

Additions:
- "Complaint: Donati doesn't swing in Planet X..."
- "Which of so-&-so's jazz playing doesn't show much of a be-bop reference"...
- "Vinnie & Weckl can't swing like EJ, Deej, or Tain..." [this is true; however, it's quite tiresome...promoting the "hearing" awa understanding of the differences within an idiom or idioms is a better route]
- "What fashion sense does Britney's drummer have?"..."I hope he dresses as clever as Dave Navarro..."

...[unless they're done in a clever, sly, witty HODhb humor sort of way]... ;cp

[drumalot & mat...I've played the Puyallup PuWOWup...woo-hoo!]

That's it! CW, you are now aptly knighted, "War-Drum Key!"... j/k

These days 99% of kids have no idea who Vinnie, Weckl, Gadd, Smith, Chambers etc., are.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hmmm, not sure about that. If you're talkin' 12-16 year olds, then yes. If you're talkin' guys into drums, then like myself and many others, you check out music beyond the range of your peers because you explore...and that means listening to the greats. I admit, it took me way too long to discover some of the greats.

We all start off with what is in out venacular and then branch out. I like DSOP's philosophy of putting together CD's of great drummers and music and sharing with friends. That influence can never be underestimated!
