The StudioKans are have much better isolation then the vic firth's.

Nice review of them on www.drumreport.com

I wear foam earplugs(29-33db)-the kind you can pick up at any local drug store. I wear my headphones on top of them.

I've got to turn them up a little higher, but, it's still safer than cranking them up to hear over your own drums UNPROTECTED, which I suspect might be your problem.

I don't mind losing the high end because that's the most damaging, plus I'm used to the sound now...

I've got some high end loss in my left ear, so it's foam plugs for me...

I've seen those StudioKans before Josiah and I thought they looked nice, but I think what cjbdrm suggested sounds better.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is a good idea and it makes sense. It's also a much cheaper alternative. Now with my
GC gift certificate I can buy that cowbell that I want.

Just remember: only turn those suckers up JUST ENOUGH to hear the music over the drums- or whatever point you need to. Every db counts.

Even with ear plugs in, long durations at lower decibel levels can be just as damaging as short durations at higher decibels...

Im going to wear the ear plugs underneath my iso phones, so I think that will be plenty of protection. And my iso phones can't get to very high volumes, so I'm not too worried about that.

Re: Isolation headphones

It happens that you can lose one or both AirPods, there is only one way to find them - using the stolen headphone tracking guide app. Thanks to this function, you can locate the earphone on the map, play a sound signal on them, or get a route to the point where the loss is located.
