Isolation headphones

Well recently my ears have been bothering me, in that they have been very sensitive to sound. Especially my left ear, which seems to be ringing much more often then usual. I'm pretty sure that i have caused damage to my ear, but I am unsure of why. Each time i practice i wear vic fith iso headephones. However, at lessons i originally did not wear anything, so I am now wearing earplugs at each lesson.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody can recommend some great isolation headphones that can be plugged into a cd player, provide could sound, and excellent protection (maybe up to 30 or more decibels). My price range is around 80$.

In addition to the Vic Firth Isolation headphones, they also make isolation headphones with stereo.

both vic firth ones are very good.

the blue isolation phones (with no speakers) are excellent for practice....light weight etc.

meterophones are good but too heavy and uncomfortable.

I've used them. You need more dampening then 24db?!?!?!?! I thought they where a lil too much for me and they sounded pretty crappy. I use Sony MDR-7506 and they sound great and I can hear me playing. Their are some that are more isloated but cost alot more $$. Maybe even save for the Bose noise canceling ones. They might have a peyment plan. I've used the aircraft bose ones and I killed the snare and it didnt bother me. It Makes your set sound alot diffrent.

I just made my own set. You can get some constuction headphones from a hardware store for really cheap, then get some koss portapro earphones and stick them inside the isolation set. You get the same thing as the vic firth ones for a lot less.

I also have a pair of STIHL lawn headphones and used buds in them. The Vic Firth ones did much better iso wise.

I have a couple of pairs of Gordy Knudtsen's GK drumphones, that are pretty much the same as the Vic Firth ones. They work well.
