They must be kidding.
Another danish bassplayer whom in a tv program presented his Cd-collection, wrecked a TOTO album, saying that he was embarresed about owning this album, and it was geeky owning anything with them.
what has the world come down to....
Best thing is to ignore these new writes etc. and trust yourself for what you feel about Jeff.

Yeah, I would say during Jeff's time his phone rang the most next to Gadd, then JR. Of course Keltner, Palmer, Baird was doing quite abit of studio too.

Who are the ten? I guess I would have to know what they meant by "changing music", but ten sounds like 4 or 5 too many to me.
I would say Hal Blaine and Gary Chester would be the pioneers, they firmly established the studio drumming role. Then there's Gadd. That would probably be it for me. Just because you make a contribution doesn't mean you changed music. But if I had to name 10 influential studio drummers, Porcaro would definitely be in there.
Sounds like a journalist and not a musician.

One thing is to have a lot of work, and have a permanent ringing phone, and other is to change the music!!!!.
There are dozens, or even hundres of drummers working all the time that don't have a direct impact in the evolution of music.
Having said that, the name of Porcaro Should have been in that list IMHO.
.....By the way, who are the 10 names?
Hey CJBDRM sorry if I repeated your idea, you must have posted a few seconds before me
