saw the last half hour of this - I'm toying with the idea of buying the DVD, so this seemed a good way of previewing the show.Managed to catch Ginger's Toad solo...I know lots of time has passed since the heady days of Cream and he sixties, and I realise that Ginger's getting on a bit...dunno, left me feeling a bit flat, like - I remember him being better than this? Still, any chance to revisit legends playing live music has got to be worth seeing (can't wait for the Shadows' reunion...'LittleB'and 'The Rise and fall of Flingel Blunt' were seminal tracks, and Brian Bennett's playing was a huge influence for me growing up in the early sixties).anyway, back to Ginger...ain't it odd how he still makes those brand spanking DWs sound like his old Ludwigs?, or does it just support the theory that the sound comes from within the player, irrespective of the instrument?
All good stuff...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I was struck by that too.The kit seemed to still have DW stock DW-branded heads on, which I think are just clear Ambassadors.

I'm assuming it was all in the EQ.

Just watched the Mahavishnu Orchestra. It was awesome! shame it was so short. Cobham was on fire, and his single stroke rolls are so fast! He was using a huge 2 bass clear acrylic fibes kit, it seemed very underpowered but gave him good clarity, and sounded just right for the era. He was burning it up in 11/8 for the last track. Great musicians, great music.
