Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I always had a good feeling about the Yamaha, and plus it does have some more features than the Tama.

I Just bought one from Ebay - so I'll find out soon enough how good it is.

Only thing is I don't think there is a way to mount this one on a stand like the Tama, is there?

The vibration is for count off.
But if you need to play to click for the rest of the tune, use headphones...or stare at the flashing LED.

    I use a Roland Dr.Beat DB12 - it's incredibly small and portable as a pack of gum!

It does everything I need it to, and I'm really happy with it. I can jam it in my stick bag, or cymbal bag and given all the stuff I haul around, that's a bonus.

ok.....it's for count off. but i still don't understand....vibration has to be 'felt'. is there something attached to you? i would think the CS is sitting on a rack or something. so what causes you to feel the vibration?

Taka a look at the picture of it (link above). The small round "pad" on the left has to be pressed down to feel the vibration.

Within 2 clicks you physically feel the tempo and are ready for a solid start off. And song titles can be programmed and are easy to navigate through.

Yes, very cool feature - but it would be even better if you COULD strap something onto you like a little patch or arm-band to feel the pulse for the whole tune, rather than hear the click... or BOTH!

They should develop a little patch that can be stuck on your arm/ass that sends 10.000 volts through your body on the downbeat
