Yeah, that was Tribute out of Violent Icecream
I worked on it a few weeks before the recital, about 6 hours of practice a day
Yeah, I agree about the marching sticks... I was playing with SD1's... I brought the Hardimon's out for a while but they weren't as comfortable at the time :-/
I'll work on it though

Definitely kudos to you for taking on that solo. It's tough to do a 5 page solo without being unhappy about something. That's Tribute out of the Jeff Queen book right? I've been working out of that book for the past month or so, and it's become one of my favorites. How long did it take you to get that solo together?
I agree w/ everyone regarding the sound but then again I think that for this style you kind of have to have that dry/cranked up kevlar sound to hear all the articulations. I'm definitely no authority about marching drums and percussion, just my opinion.

Oh right, yeah i should of figured that since you probably practiced it before since it was a recital!

wot were those back sticking patterns in the 1st 2 minutes - i liked those!
