Hey Steve,
Haven't heard much from you as of late. What have you been doing? What have you been working on?

Hey thanks for asking Blake!

Today I just got done two days in the studio with my trio, ALTERED. I'm excited about the recording, it was fun. I purchased a digital video cam recently and set it up in the drum room with me and shot the whole session. I plan on ditching the audio from the camera and syncing up the audio from the final CD. I recently got a DVD burner so this footage maybe extras for the SHED SOME LIGHT DVD. I will also be releasing a drum solo from that same session on the web soon.
The video is still selling well and the feedback is positive and encouraging!
Outside of that I'm practicing and doing some freelance jazz gigs (one in Valencia this weekend).

Not many guys on here know, but I have a day job with my second passion, Video Games. I work in production at Activision. I work mostly with PC first person shooters, so that keeps me busy as well. I worked on "Return To Castle Wolfenstein", "Soldier Of Fortune II", and the upcoming "ELite Force II."
Between the music and the games lately I've been a happy camper!

Steve, I've been wanting to get your video but should I wait for this 'newer' DVD?

Heres the drum solo I mentioned (on the front page too)
http://www.houseofdrumming.com/steveholmes.zip (17mb but excellent quality))
RE The DVD it's going to be a while. I'm a bit hesitant because I will burn them myself and there maybe compatibility issues with them. If you're eager to get it then I would say get the video.
We'll see....
BTW if you cant see the video get the latest MS Media Player. (Mac version there too!)

I knew you were up to something. Thanks for sharing the video clip! I really like your phrasing on this one. You're definitely moving onto another level.

The quality of the clip is great. What is the model of the camera? Is it good in low light? (good for shooting live gigs?)

Glad you're a happy camper !

Sick playing, dude. Drums sound awesome, too. (I guess those Emperors are the way to go, huh?)
