Just found out that Manu Katch? will perform at the Montreal Drum Fest with his band, on November 12 ! This is great news, as Manu has not performed at any major drum festivals because of his continuous touring with Peter Gabriel and Sting, among others.
Check out the festival web site for more details.

Yeah, it's downright terrible when you can't perform at any major drum festivals because of continuous touring with acts like Peter Gabriel & Sting, among [many] others [-AWA sessions].

That should be a good one. Hope you get to attend. Let us know how it goes, if so.

Manu... Alongside a piano, bass and trumpet. That should be interesting...
Has anyone heard his solo CD?? Any good? Amazon's got it HERE, but no samples available.

Manu's musicians at the festival will be 3 of France's best, and it would seem that they all met in a jazz festival in the south of France last year. Franck Avitabile on keys, Alex Tassel, trumpet, and Gildas Bocl? , bass.
I believe that the new CD will be coming out this Fall, with these musicians. Hope they will have it in Montreal !

Just found out that Virgil Donati will play the Montreal Drum Fest on Saturday, Nov. 13. Virgil is playing better than ever ! He is now on an Asian clinic tour.
