I have a Chick Corea 5CD boxed set called "Music Forever and Beyond (1964-1996)".

The 5th CD is previously unreleased material by the Chick Corea Quartet (Chick, Patitucci, Berg and Novak). It's standards (mostly Monk's stuff). Novak shows deep and beautiful straight ahead playing. If you like the interplay on Time Warp, you'll also like this one very much.

The other 4 CDs have most of Chick's classics including the GRP era.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Absolutely awesome recordings wirh Gary. I was very impressed by his kickdrum sound on "Paint The World". Seems to be a 18" or 20" unmuffled kick that was recorded without close miking. Apart from that thes recordings show Gary as a real master of the "blushda-lick" that he uses in a million variations.
