What do you do to get the gig? Does it just pop up in your hand?
It sucks pretty bad for me here. First off any people my age in this area is either into "punk" "Metalish stuff" or "rap".
I only have one friend that can stand listening to Herbie while in the car.
I tried the metalish stuff and all it is is noise to me (the style the peeps where playing anyways)
I have yet to see any people (let alone my age) other then the old old people play anything intresting like Funk Jazz..... Decent stuff I can stand and play. The only way to get a gig around here is if you're a "brother" (because we all know they are the best ) Or you like that noise. ARGH!! I wanna play in a actual band instead of tracks everyday so when I get out their I won't be lost with the band. And if a gig does come open their's always some drum god that appears or they get their homie to play. I'm just a lil pissed. Ok..my rant is over.

If you're in a big city i'm sure there are older peeps who're looking for a guy like you, have you tried browsing the web for Band-Auditions in your Area?

there is no substitute for playing with other musicians. I take the gig and make it as good as you can
