Hello K, thank you for asking. I live in the UK in Oxford and have been a fan since 1975/76 when I would read about them in the music press.

I saw them live 3 time, twice in 1976 with the original line up then again a year later.
There had been line up changes and the slide had begun.

Still great memories though.

I live in the North West of England - by the sea. I first discovered the Runaways three or four years ago, when all their records we reissued in the UK. I knew *of* them because I had already had a few Joan Jett records...

As soon as I heard the bass run at the start of 'Cherry Bomb', I knew I was going to *love* the band...

I'm from America, the United States. I didn't become a fan of the band until 1986 after they had already broken up. Never got to see them live, although I'm around the same age as the band members.

Hi pkhone,

I always thought The Runaways first toured the UK in 1976 but looks like I was wrong.

Where did you see them back in 1975 ?????

Thanks pkhone, thought for a moment I missed them without knowing it.

The Roundhouse gigs were on 1-10-76 and 2-10-76.
The support band for both nights was the Suburban Studs. Tickets cost ?1.90

Please stop me pkhone, I'm sounding like an anorak.

Starzbhoy , I see you are a SWEET(shop) fan,
Micky Tucker was a really great freind and mentor, he spent many times at the pub with me giving advice, he was from my home town Ruislip, I will always miss him, Brian on the other hand was a fighting fool...and he got into many fights back then, I used to go to TOP OF THE POPS alot, at the beeb, and the Sweet were nearly always on back in the early 70's,I am try to find some of the old TOP OF THE POPS videos to see me dressed in my Silver lame' outfits...Glam man!!! and hanging with jimmy saville(sir)
but you are so right the sweet were a great band...Queen totally ripped them back then,
and Micky used to tell me about them,as they played All SWEET stuff.
they were called SMILE back then,
RIP MICKY, another Great drummer Gone! ouch!!!
