Which version do you like better? The Runaways (with Cherie singing) or Joan's solo version. With me it depends on which one I'm listening to at the time.

I like Joan Jett and the Blakchearts version best, probably because I heard it first. I didn't know The Runaways existed until 1986, but their version is obviously a close second for me, since I am a fan and hang out on this board. Ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb!

I remember my first time hearing The Runaways version. I was driving in my car late one night, headed home after work. I had the car radio tuned to WLUP-FM, when I first heard Cherry Bomb.

To me, at that time, it was exciting & new, I remember having it cranked up, Driving along Route 55 on that cold, dark night.

Everytime someone mentions Cherrybomb, thats what I think of.

As much as a like Joan's version of Cherry Bomb, I like Cherie's version even more!

I'm glad they are both still doing the song!

I first heard it as a Runaways song.

Even though Joan wrote it, and did a bang up job of it...

C'mon... it's a Runaways song

i dont think the songs sound too much the same. cherie has an awsome style that joan couldnt cover ., i love joan but i think it should have stayed in the runaways only

It's the definitive Runaways song, IMO and I'm glad Cherie and Joan both do it.
I would so rather they embrace their past than RunAway from it!
