[QB]D?nae - it's fascinating to see your input here. I've always wondered about the period when Laurie was in the band. If she would be willing to answer any of these questions, I'd be very grateful:

I spoke with her tonight and she said she'd post promptly. The problem right now is that the CAT-5 cable that connects the RV to the shop has gone belly up and I need to find someone with a crimper to set it right. The other computers don't allow the access we need, so I'll have to fix it. Maybe I can get Laurie to use someone else's computer.

[QB]Hi Danae, I have a copy of the show from the Whisky, Unfortunately it's cassette, and the quality is pretty poor but it's still great to listen to! Joan introduces Laurie as the new bass player! [snip]
Thank you so much for the cassette. You were right about it being rough but it's no rougher than some I've heard. In time, I can take it into Soundforge and some other audio tweeksters and clean it up a bunch. Amazing what shareware is out there now for that.

In a previous post, I wrote:
"One thing we both agree on is that we'll never see another Momma Cass (or anyone else female that's not young & pretty) but will be dubiously treated to an endless parade of Avril Lavignes."
Upon looking at that in print later it occurred to me that I should say that I do not mean to disparage Avril's music or anything, as it seems my remarks are open to interpretation. I really like her music and respect her talent, I just resent the fact she so damned young and pretty, y'now? I got the Old Geezer's blues, I guess. I sometimes feel like American music marketing alienates anyone over 30 by presenting only material suitable for angst-ridden teenagers with money to burn. Brilliant music and brilliant lyric directed at someone else... Don't laugh--it'll happen to you!

Here's a rare promo photo of The Runaways from late 1978.
Anyone know where this was taken?

Hey all, that's a Zlozower shot, I think he said they were done in Venice Beach. I'll ask him and find out.
I have seen all of the session photos, they are very cool!
Hawk.

Thanks for the info. The promo photo only said The Runaways / phonogram 1978. No mention of the photographer. Neil has a nice website.
