Recently, my younger brother and his wife came to visit. She is in production in the recording industry in Nashville and works with a lot of young bands but also with the likes of BB King. Anyway, Watin for the Night was featured on my CD player and after only a song or two she interupted her sudden dancing and yelled, "who is this!?! what radio stations are playing this music!?!" She could not believe that the Runaways had actually broken up as a band before she was born! She has since purchased several Runaways CD's and is as hooked as some of us who were there at the beginning. Long Live the Runaways!

Great story. It is always cool to hear that new people have been turned on to The Runaways. I learned about The Runaways in 1986 when I investigated Joan Jett's first band. Joan kept The Runaways' music alive by including covers on her early albums and I decided to check out the original versions. I'm glad I did.

I actually got into the Runaways back in 1976. I was reading a magazine article featuring a ratty looking blonde, who turned out to be Debbie Harry, talking about her favorite bands, of which the Runaways were her top pick. I could not get into the Bee Gees or Journey and was desperate for something new, different and full of energy and angst. Well, the Runaways certainly filled that request! I have been collecting thier music and other bits of memorabilia ever since. I have been a one person propoganda campaign for 28 years now. Just yesterday friends were over and "Live in Japan" was the featured music (along with Joan's Naked)

Hello Edgeplay fan, Welcome to the board. I am going to the premiere of the movie myself tomorrow. I promise to fill anyone in with info if they want it.

I Love The Runaways too. They are a key point of inspiration since i am a young female musician myself.

Yes, please fill us in on the premiere. Let us know how you liked the film and who was there. I can't wait to see this film on my favorite rock band. This has been a great year to be a Runaways fan!!
