This is my first post here so I am not sure what the climate or the response level is like. My reason for writing here is to rally all fans, supporters, admirers, and lovers of rock music to meet a common goal. I would like to engage your support to petition the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Foundation to induct The Runaways. What do you guys think? I need some suggestions and feedback. I want as many names as possible so I need to hear some good suggestions.

Sure! I think you'll find a lot of support here, but
please let us all know what this will entail. How about posting the Hall of Fame Guidelines for us here, mintont!

Thanks, I meant to post that info. from The Hall of Fame. Here is what I was thinking... we could either all write to them vigurously and tell them that they must consider The Runaways for next year, or I could email a petition and we could get everyone to sign it and send it back to me and I could then mail it to The Hall of Fame. Let me know what you think is best.

Hi mintont,
Welcome to the board. Great topic! A well written petition might do the trick.
An organized effort might be more of a squeaky wheel. (so to speak)
Maybe you could give us an idea of what you'd have the petition say and get a few suggestions before the final draft?!?!

Thanks for those links Wasted!

Mintont, From what I understand, the HOF will only accept separate postcards/letters mailed via U.S. post. Can you give us more info on that?

I couldn't get any additional info. on that statement because the only way to reach the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Foundation is through written letter. They don't have an email address. However, I think one petition with signatures would be better than a thousand letters from individuals. Don't you think, or could this be wrong?

Suggestions?

I say, the more letters they receive the better. I would love to see them swamped with letters. And then you could also do an online type of petition also. Doing both doesn't hurt. Rock ON...
