I was pleased to see The Runaways listed at #3 behind Sleater-Kinney and The Go-Go's in the ROCKRGRL article Grl's Club: The 20 Most Influential All-Female Bands Ever. The article appears in the Summer 2004 / Number 52 issue on page 27. There are no pictures and the article is very skimpy, but at least they are on the list!

There's never gonna be a list that everyone agrees with. Sorry Precious Metal and Fanny did not make the list. Here's the rundown:

The Go-Go's, Sleater-Kinney, The Runaways, Le Tigre, The Bangles, Babes in Toyland, The Donnas, Kittie, Team Dresch, Shonen Knife, Klymaxx, Bratmobile, L7, Tribe 8, Girlschool, Sahara Hotnights, The Shaggs, The Ronettes, Josie & the Pussycats and The Shangri-Las

Im extremely pleased to see Kittie is in there....
But i wonder where Hole is??
IMO The Runaways taught The go-go's and Sleater Kinney what rock n' roll is all about
They will always be #1 in my list
I do think they should be # one, but Charlotte of the Go-Go's is actually my one and only celebrity friend, and she's an awesome gal!
Maybe they left off Hole because of Eric?
Yeah, I thought Hole always had a male drummer. I saw an interview with Courtney before Hole disbanded and she was kind of bummed because she always wanted an all-girl band.
Courtney Love does better in Spin magazine's 50 Greatest Rock Frontmen of All Time where she comes in at #18, the highest female entry. Joan Jett is at #33. (August 2004 issue with The Hives on the cover)

They had a couple of drummers, and i'm pretty sure both were female. Eric was the lead guitarist. I feel bad for her! She's all over the place...And I thought her solo album rocked!
Oops, got that wrong. I knew there was a guy in the band and I thought he was the drummer. Thanks for correcting my mistake.
<font size="2" face="Arial,Helvetica">I agree Jettford I was really looking forward to seeign her live in July, but she canceled due to "medical" reasons...Originally posted by Jett Ford:

The first song i EVER learned how to play was VIOLET

Courtney has NEVER gotten the RESPECT she DESERVES!!! Just proves (once again) how women ARE always taken for granted!
